Heating Ways

In many temperate countries around the world, swimming pools are heated for people to be able to use them. The Canberra swimming pool heating also relies on the many number of heating technologies used in heating pools.

In order to enjoy the water, swimming pools need much of today’s many efficient pool heating technologies. Nobody can use their pools given the extreme weather conditions in certain times of the year.

Raising temperatures

Without the heating system, the water will not get any warmer than around 22 degrees.

People and athletes will not swim in any pool water that is lower than 26 degrees. These pools, in turn, are heated to comfortable temperatures of 29 to 30 degrees Celsius.

For the residents, pool heating can extend their swimming months (four months longer) even after summer had ended. The following are some of the types of heating systems used on pools, depending on circumstances like costs, convenience, pool size, and others.

Solar power

This system is being used mainly for residential heating. Not only is it an energy-efficient system, it also is an environmentally-friend method. Heating your home with a solar energy heater, it can also be used to heat your pool as well.

However, on overcast days, it has the disadvantage of working at reduced efficiency. On overcast days, it has to work hard to heat up the pool and keep it warm.

In quickly heating your pool, it is best to combine solar panels (that produces energy instead of heat) with an electric heating system. This is to quickly heat up your pool via electricity.

Heat exchanger

With the use of titanium heat exchanger, this system also quickly heats up your pool. The electricity heats up the resistor, which in turn transfers the heat to the water flowing past the resistance.

It can heat up your pool in just one day which is fast enough, and it is cheaper to install. However, the energy consumption cost can high.

Relatively, it is an inexpensive heating system because the titanium heat exchanger is connected to the residential heating system. It can heat up your pool without the sun which makes it ideal to combine with either the heat pump or a solar boiler.

Heat pump

The heat pump has several benefits. The system is highly efficient and economical. There is ease of use, and it is durable.

It is also more environmentally friendly thant gas or fuel pool heating system. Moreover, it has a longer service life. It uses electricity to extract heat from the outside air and distribute this into the water.

However, if the outside temperature is lower than 10 degrees Celsius, you need to shut off the heat pump and use a heat exchanger.

Electric / gas / fuel

The electric pool heating system is expensive. It uses so much electricity that it can only be considered for whirlpools up to 1,500 liters.

On the other hand, both gas and fuel have low efficiency ratio. It requires 5 KW of energy to generate 1 KW of heat. It is the opposite with heat pumps (1 KW of energy produces 5 KW of heat).
